Whats Happening

- ASL classes for adults started in Goliad, October 29, 2009! We meet on Thursdays from 4 to 5:15 at Goliad Elementary School. Contact: kimann@heartsign.org to register---it's FREE!
- Deaf Adult retreat March 27/28 2010 at Camp Aranzazu- special guest Victor Vodounou.
- The ASL Youth Council applications were submitted and we are happy to have chosen 24 students to participate in our ASL Youth Council Meetings every Tuesday from March to May in Goliad. Council members include students from 4th to 8th grade - we have a diverse group eager to improve their skills in ASL. Members include students who are Deaf, Children of Deaf Adults (CODA's), Hearing students with Deaf family members, and Hearing with an interest in ASL. Look for our events on the calendar!
- Summer Camp applications for kids and counselors coming soon!!! We are scheduling August 4-8 2010 with Camp Aranzazu in Rockport. Details coming soon!
- Heart Sign was at Reliant Stadium when the Houston Texans took on the Tennessee Titans November 23, 2009. Thank you Houston Texans for supporting Heart Sign with this important fundraising event!
- The land has been donated by Bum and Debbie Phillips for HeartSign to begin! We will serve Hard of Hearing and Deaf children at this campsite in Goliad, Texas. It is beautiful!!! We are praying for the construction of our campsite buildings. We are assembling volunteers, training them, visiting similar campsites and beginning our blueprints. We can't wait to post more pictures and video! **Pictured above: Debbie, Kimann, Amelia and Bum working on the website!**
