- Deaf Awareness Week was September 17-24. GHS ASL classes would like to thank Candy, Robin, Marcos, and Vivian for visiting and signing with our classes!
- The field trip to TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF HOMECOMING was incredible!!! Thanks to the Goliad Education Foundation for the grant to send 77 of us there!!! Thank you to our volunteers for that trip: Miss Zellmer, Mrs Bleier, Mrs Kremling, Mr England, and Mrs Alex. A big ILY to the Smith Family for all your support and hospitality at TSD.
- Summer Camp for Deaf, CODAs, and ASL
students together having FUN in ASL! Our 2010 and 2011 camps were a HUGE succes!! 2 Camps will be in JULY 2012!
- Faith Hope Love Deaf Church ---We meet twice monthly and services are in ASL with Deaf Pastor, Tim Smith. Dinner, fellowship time, and service! Families welcome. Next meeting---November 19th at 1:00 pm!--Thanksgiving meal served and then meeting at the First United Methodist Church - Goliad. If you would like to volunteer, please email: Kimann@heartsign.org
- Ladies Event---Shop and Sign was TONS of FUN!!! We met at Casa Ole at the Victoria Mall at noon. We had a fabulous meal and fellowship, followed by a view of the dog show, and of course, shopping!! ***Ladies retreat on December 2-4!
- ASL classes for adults have been ongoing in Goliad, since October 29, 2009! Contact: kimann@heartsign.org to register.
- The ASL Youth Council from Goliad Intermediate and Middle Schools is growing. We have a diverse group eager to improve their skills in ASL. Members include 68 students who are Deaf, Children of Deaf Adults (CODA's), Hearing students with Deaf family members, and Hearing with an interest in ASL. The ASLYC meets the third Wednesday of the month at the GHS lecture room after school until 5.
- The ASL Council at Goliad High School has begun year 2; congratulations to the new officers and thanks to Marcos Perez for "keeping it Deaf" last year at our meetings, and Marco Rea, Iris Llamas and Vivian Flores for coming out this year!! The council meets the second and third Wednesday after school in the Lecture Room, with officer lunch meetings once a month.

- Heart Sign was at Reliant Stadium when the Houston Texans took on the Tennessee Titans November 23, 2009. Thank you Houston Texans for supporting Heart Sign with this important fundraising event and for your donation in 2010!!! --- and again in 2011!
- ASL Council from GHS hosted Signing
Saturday----over 70 people met and signed and had a great time on April
30th 2011! GHS ASL Council/ASL Youth Council was a huge success this year. 2012 Date TBA
- Deaf Adult retreat March 27/28 2010
at Camp Aranzazu- special guest Victor Vodounou was a huge success.
- Press Conference in San Antonio
with Bum Phillips November 9th, Book Signing and Concert on November
14th was held at Texas Pride Barbecue. A portion of the proceeds go to
Heart Sign!! Thanks for your support!
- Deaf "Town Hall Meeting" was a success in October! Plans for Spring Deaf Adult Retreat, Dinners, Youth Activities, and much more. See calendar for updates!
